The correct purchasing process is to:
1. define representative parts;
2. calculate the required bending capacity;
3. confirm working length, stroke, daylight and throat depth;
4. list every required axis;
5. compare drive architecture;
6. define tooling and safety;
7. verify the legal manufacturer;
8. issue the same RFQ to shortlisted suppliers;
9. perform a representative FAT;
10. and evaluate lifecycle service rather than only purchase price.
A good press brake purchase is not the machine with the longest feature list.
It is the machine whose documented capacity, configuration, safety, tooling, software, service and acceptance criteria match the buyer’s actual production requirements.
